Art is frozen Zen

HI! Iā€™M JULI SHIELDS, QUILTER

I was born and raised in southern Indiana, attending college a few miles from my hometown. After undergrad, I went to law school at Indiana University School of Law and began practicing law in Indianapolis. In 2002, still single, I adopted my daughter, who was born in China.

In 2006, after almost 20 years of living and working in Indiana, my daughter and I moved to St. Louis, Missouri when I was offered a job of a lifetime by a national health system as one of the in-house lawyers. I worked at the health system for 11 years, and in 2017, took an opportunity for a buy-out, not knowing what the next chapter would be. After some starts and stops during this work hiatus, I eventually realized that my longtime dream of a quilting business was possible. In 2020, during a world-wide pandemic, we moved back to Indiana, settling in Zionsville. While recuperating from an appendectomy, my daughter discovered her affinity for graphic design, and started a sticker business. Together, we hatched the idea of building a space to make our art and share our love for creativity.

A few months later, Pink Moon Designs was born.
